Last weekend we had a few graduations in the family–a nephew and a set of twins (niece+nephew). I hadn’t had much time to run out to get them something and then I thought, ‘Pfffff, what am I thinking? I have the perfect thing to do!’
I decided to combine two kits into one–the gift card tearaway envelope and the graduation subway art. (Plus I stole a line from Cathy Zielske’s darling grad cards to use on the tearaway because my brain was too fried to think of anything else creative. ;) )
To make your own graduation adaptation–or with any art, really:
- Open the gift card tearaway design and delete the center art, rectangle, and text.
- Open the graduation subway art file and copy the text to the gift card window.
- Size the subway art to fit into the rectangle space, or you could spread it out over the whole envelope.
- Add your text along the tearaway part and fill it with white.
- Change the subway art to white.
- Change the envelope to black.
Of course colors can be made to whatever tickles your fancy, including the school colors of the graduate.
You can even take it one step further and personalize it by adding the child’s name along the bottom or the side. You will amaze your recipient! Especially if it’s personalized, on account-a…who gets one of those???
This gift card tearaway envelope is truly one of my favorite designs ever.
One other tip, I printed mine on Epson Premium Presentation Matte paper. That black is soooo rich! It’s almost like velvet.
Then you can just prepare it for a print+cut, stuff it with some moola or a gift card, and you’re done…and you didn’t even have to step foot in a store.
That’s my kind of gift!
